In December 1996, Murphy USA opened its first retail store in a SAM'S CLUB parking lot in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In 2007, just a little over 10 years since the first store opened, Murphy USA is almost 1,000 stores strong in 20 states throughout the U.S. Murphy USA stations are located in Wal-Mart parking lots in the central and southeastern portion of the United States.
